Chapter Four
The next morning Devon woke with Lance snuggled in his embrace. He squeezed Lance closer, burying his face into the back of Lance’s neck and inhaling deeply, enjoying the musky scent he’d become more and more accustomed to.
For a few minutes he lay on his side and watched the rise and fall of Lance’s chest. At the same time, thoughts of his routine intruded into his thoughts, causing an uneasy sense of nervousness to settle in his stomach. Before he had a chance to linger on his upcoming trials, the words from their discussion the night before filled Devon’s head, quickly followed by images from the clearing.
Normally Lance was the one to drop to his knees. But something had come over Devon last night. Giving to Lance, pleasuring him without reservation, simply letting himself go, had been just what he’d needed.
The odd thing was he didn’t remember making the choice to do so. Something inside had taken over. For that moment in time, his body overrode his mind and, rather than feeling a loss of control, he couldn’t remember ever feeling so free. To be and do for Lance in a physical way, to become the vehicle of Lance’s pleasure, touched a part of him he’d never known existed.
Snuggling closer, he pictured each ridge and vein of Lance’s cock, pale and shimmering with an evening moonlit glow. He felt the firm grip of Lance’s hand on the back of his head and tasted the salty tang of cum as it slid down his throat.
And the odd part was, although he was being dominated, he had never felt so turned on, so empowered to be exactly who he was.
His thoughts were distracted by Lance shifting in his arms. “Mmm. Good morning.” He pressed his ass back against Devon’s cock, which had grown rigid and was throbbing.
Devon leaned down and placed a tender kiss on Lance’s lips. “Morning.” He stared into Lance’s amber eyes and swam in the intimacy of watching the man he loved waking up next to him.
He was about to speak, but the expression on Lance’s face changed, as if the blissful waking moments had been pushed violently aside, and something else took hold inside him. “Devon, I’m so sorry about last night.”
He didn’t know what he’d expected Lance to say, but that certainly wasn’t it. “What are you talking about? Last night was amazing.” The confidence he’d felt only moments earlier began to seep from him. “Wasn’t it?”
Lance sat up and turned in so he faced Devon. “Of course it was amazing. But I was so selfish. Right after I told you to let me take care of you, I ignored my own words and allowed you to take care of me.”
Devon opened his mouth, but nothing came out. What Lance had described was so entirely opposite from what he’d experienced. He’d never felt more fulfilled than he had with Lance in the clearing.
“I promise. I’ll make sure to put your needs first. I won’t let you down like that again.
